I am Charlotte Dupuy. I was born on the Stagville Plantation on August 25, 1833 and have worked here my entire life. I mainly help with the children and the housework. My master taught me to read and write so I could teach his children. I am unlike most slaves because my master and mistress are kind to me. In fact, they are even nicer to me than to any of the other slaves. I hope you enjoy my takes on the different events that happened during the war. I only write about once a year because I am a procrastinator.
